35th Northern National Art Competition (NNAC) Start Through July 28
No one knows how our juror/judge Robert Kanyusik managed to choose 101 pieces of art out of the 646 submitted for review, because they were all amazing. Hours were spent looking through the entries, and yet there was always something new to appreciate each time through.
Please join us to celebrate the art and artists at the 35th Northern National Art Competition (NNAC) Opening Reception on June 16. It's going to be an incredible reception, with many of the artists in attendance. We're excited to welcome many artists new to NNAC this year, as well as those familiar faces who have shown with us before.
Don't miss this opportunity to meet the artists and appreciate the beauty of this incredibly diverse show. Tickets are $20 and include heavy appetizers, wine, entry to the opening exhibition reception and thoughtful commentary by our juror/judge, Robert Kanyusik.
Tickets are available at Childs Frame Co or Trigs in Rhinelander, as well as through members of the Northern Arts Council. You may also arrange to purchase tickets from Lisa Sage at the Nicolet Art Gallery at lsage@nicoletcollege.edu.
Checks should be made out to Northern Arts Council (NAC).
We hope to see you there!
2022 Northern National Art Competition
The Northern National Art Competition (NNAC) is a juried art exhibition co-sponsored by the Northern Arts Council and Nicolet College. Each year, hundreds of artists nationwide submit work to be considered for inclusion. The competition strives to showcase a cross section of contemporary art in a variety of two-dimensional mediums. The art is always both intellectually stimulating and visually exciting. Submissions are accepted during the late winter, with the exhibit and judging held in late July. Watch for more information about the 2022 NNAC.
Nicolet College Student Show Opening Reception
Attend the opening reception as Nicolet Students exhibit their drawings, paintings, ceramics, and photography. The work is the result of a variety of exercises assigned by their instructors. The students are working with foundational principals of art such as composition, contract, design, color, line, shape, and value. In life-drawings classes, students gain a better understanding of anatomy in order to draw paint and paint portrait and figures.
